Season 2 of TinyTap Publisher NFTs Exceeds Expectations and Sells Out

In a recent announcement, Animoca Brands revealed that Season 2 of its Publisher NFTs had surpassed all expectations by selling out. The sale of all 720 Publisher NFTs brought in 538,560 EDU tokens, equivalent to approximately $315,517 at the time of sale. This surge in revenue far exceeded initial predictions for the digital assets.

The success of Season 2 follows the sold-out first batch of six TinyTap Publisher NFTs, which were announced in November 2022. The initial batch generated 138.926 ETH, approximately $228,000 at the time of sale. This revenue meant that the six teachers who authored the content linked to the Publisher NFTs received approximately $111,000 each.

Animoca Brands, the parent company of the edtech platform TinyTap, announced that the revenue from the Publisher NFTs sale would be shared with the educators on the TinyTap platform. The Publisher NFTs were created to support content creators in the field of education and publishing, with the goal of empowering creators with better rights to their educational content on TinyTap.

Creators of educational content on the TinyTap platform will receive 50% of the proceeds from their NFTs, as well as a 10% ongoing share of the revenue generated by the NFTs. In addition, creators will have access to a royalty consisting of 5% of the secondary sale of their NFTs. These new incentives are aimed at providing educators with a continuous and upfront source of revenue, acknowledging their contributions to the platform.

The impact of digital assets on the education sector has been significant. The Publisher NFTs grant creators the autonomy to focus on creating more content, as the NFT holders become co-publishers of the content linked to the NFT and can receive up to 80% of the revenue share the content generates.

Yogev Shelly, CEO of TinyTap, emphasized that the recent sale signifies more than just earning opportunities for creators. He stated that it is about building a future where communities play a pivotal role in shaping curricula and empowering teachers and content creators to pave a path toward true educational autonomy.

TinyTap, which was founded in 2012, has grown to become the world’s largest educational games library and has collaborated with notable publishers such as Oxford University Press, Sesame Street, and Pinkfong. The success of the Publisher NFTs indicates a promising future for education and content creators in the digital age.
